On January 19, 1999, at 1930 central standard time, a Cessna 150C, N1956Z, operated by a private pilot collided with a snowbank during a
forced landing following a loss of engine power while taking off from the Morey Airport, Middleton, Wisconsin. The pilot was not injured. The
airplane was substantially damaged. The 14 CFR Part 91 personal flight was operating in visual meteorological conditions without a flight plan.
The flight was originating at the time of the accident.
The pilot reported that after takeoff at an altitude of 75 to 100 feet above the ground a loss of engine power occurred. The airplane was landed
in a snow covered field off the end of the runway. The airplane contacted a ravine and came to rest approximately 80 feet off the end of the
runway.
The airplane was examined by an inspector from the Federal Aviation Administration Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Flight Standards District Office. The
inspector reported that ice was found in the fuel system which resulted in the loss off engine power. The line leading to the fuel quick drain
